Hello, I’m William Herkewitz.
I’m a journalist and communications professional who specializes in translating complex technical subjects into clear and compelling stories.
I have over a decade of experience leading public messaging on U.S. foreign assistance, and science reporting for publications including The New York Times and Popular Mechanics.
As a diplomat at USAID, I served as Head of Communications in Rwanda, Ethiopia, and Kenya. I oversaw multi-million-dollar contracts, managed large and diverse teams, and directed public engagement during crises, wars, and climate emergencies.
As a journalist, I write about science, technology, the environment, humanitarian assistance, and policy. If I’m writing about YOUR work, you can trust that I will be accurate, thorough, and guided by an uncompromising pursuit of the truth.
